About the Event

Please join us for a sound healing gong meditation in the beautiful gardens of the Baha'i House of Worship in Wilmette. This is a free event for adults only. The Temple is open to all denominations. All are welcome. We will be situated at the #7 garden. I will gong for approximately 40 minutes with a very brief introduction. There will be plenty of space for yoga mats and blankets. Bringing in chairs is discouraged. However, there are stone benches surrounding the garden and you are welcome to bring pillows to sit on.

You might like to come a little early to go inside the temple. They close at 8:00pm so there will be a little time after the gong meditation, also. Please be respectful that this is a sacred place and worship and prayer. Please review the site at this link for guidelines if this is your first time visiting. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you there.

The gong is the oldest known instrument. Gong sound therapy is considered sacred and has been practiced for thousands of years. Also known as a gong bath, the sound vibrations and frequencies are extremely therapeutic. It is said to be very healing, providing deep relaxation, stress reduction, and even pain relief. The gong is said to lower blood pressure, stimulate the immune system, and detoxify the body, penetrating deep into each cell, removing blockages. Slowing the brainwaves into THETA state, a 30 minute gong session is like getting 4 hours of sleep! People report a deep sense of peace after experiencing a gong meditation. Vibrational sound healing is said to be the medicine of the future.
